The South Facade

This façade overlooks the station platforms and is clad in part with brickwork (at the west end) and part with metal shingle cladding. Repairs to the brickwork involved re-pointing, treating for salt effected areas and repairing cracks. At roof level, the metal cappings to the louvres were removed and either repaired or replaced using the on site sheet metal cutting and folding machinery. A great example of the range of traditional craftsmanship that was required on the project was the work to the sash windows to the rooms at roof level.
