The main entrance

Probably one of the most photographed facades in Melbourne, the main entrance features ‘the clocks’, a traditional meeting place for Melbournians. The eight clocks indicate the times of the next trains leaving from the station on each of the eight networks. Until the early 1970s they were updated manually. This façade is topped by the largest of the eight copper domes that dominate the roof line.

Work to this façade involved repairs to the brickwork, windows and refurbishing around the clocks.
